Three sentence movie reviews: The Lego Movie

While I was tortured with a few days of the relentlessly perky "Everything is Awesome" theme song stuck in my head, it was worth it, due to the general hilarity of this film.  It was fun to see the different Lego worlds and the many famous Legos were enjoyable.*  As someone who liked to assemble my legos as instructed and leave them that way forever, I wasn't a huge fan of the third act, but I didn't disagree with their message.

Cost: $5.00
Where watched:  St. John's Theater

*My favorite being the "1980-something space guy," but Batman was hilarious.

  1. We loved this moving, too. I laughed a ton. Shawn, in his infinite charm, for awhile afterward would look at me, sing everything is awesome, and it would be stuck again!

  2. "Everything is Awesome" still comes to mind any time I see or hear of it. Not a bad thing in the end, as they subvert the way it originally came across. I had space guy, and the shuttle he came with, so he was my favorite, too.

  3. I loved how they played the same song for eight hours straight. It's not far from commercial radio, which will play a song once per hour if its really hip.

  4. I still haven't seen this but I want to. I've seen some of their shorts and they're so funny. There's a Star Wars one that just killed me and Dan when we ran across it on TV one day. We still laugh about it.
