Hmmm. My current interest is naturally fermented foods...

...could my family be getting homemade sauerkraut for Christmas?

  1. I love sauerkraut. I remember that my grandma would make it in the summers and when they traveled we got to babysit it! It was made in a large earthen ware crock and in August in a Boise garage is was pretty stinky. But oh how that sauerkraut tasted. I plan to do canning this summer, maybe I should try my hand at some natural fermenting. -S

    PS - when are we getting a post on that? If I know you it is in the works.

  2. Ah but natural fermenting isn't so smelly because it doesn't use vinegar. And you don't have to can it.
